Chief Scientist - Narrative Science
Dr. Hammond is co-founder and Chief Scientist of Narrative Science, a company that has developed an Artificial Intelligence system, Quill, that automatically generates natural language narratives based on data and advanced analytics. In his spare time, he is also is Professor of Computer Science at Northwestern University and academic director of the University’s Computer Science Plus X initiative. His research is focused on artificial intelligence, machine-generated content and the transformational impact of Computer Science. He was recently part of on a United Nations policy committee under the Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR) focused on the regulation of autonomous lethal weapons. Last year he joined the AI XPrize Committee as an Ambassador at Large. IN 2015, he was named Technologist of the Year by the Illinois Technology Association. He received his Ph.D. from Yale.
