Many of today’s coders have yet to hear or understand what is the newest and second language to the browser, WebAssembly, which is currently supported by most major browsers. There are implications that it brings to web development that everyone should begin to become aware of, web developers and web users alike.

This presentation will introduce and discuss:

  • The birth of WASM
  • Why it came to be?
  • What it can do that JavaScript cannot and how it will change the browser experience.
  • Examples
  • Can I use it in single page applications?
  • What open source projects are out there to support / abstract the low-level of it?
